IDK if I updated you guys but after waiting a long time...maybe close to a year, the person I was working with at Cartier on a piece unique told me they changed their policy and now I'd have to work directly with a local boutique.

Luckily, the lady in Vancouver that handles watches is AWESOME. But the lady at HQ literally sent me that email then ghosted after I asked them to intro/help move things over.

Now I'm 50/50 on it, kind of left a sour taste.

Spiralwinder came out with a new see through caseback for the update Speedmaster FOIS that's also thinner than the OEM caseback. I'm going to need to make this happen eventually.

Omega is just flooding the market with Speedmaster variations. It's diluting the product.

I know MoonSwatches are pretty controversial here, well they are just fun watches. As i know several posters own one, here is the new « official » bracelet i just received. In two different materials, the one inside as a « lunar soil » design. The bracelet is very comfy and super easy to change. Probably not as sturdy as the Perpetual strap.

Got to check out the new FOIS last week. I don't know how Omega did it but they made that fauxtina lume look even worse in person than in photos. I really didn't mind it in the promo images but in person, it looks so fake. It wasn't a deal breaker at all until I saw it in the flesh.

The dial size and lug-lug is perfect but it's slightly thicc-er than the Speedy Pro. I didn't notice it on the wrist but was surprised to see the specs.

On the positive side, the gray/blue dial is gorgeous and the bracelet's also a stunner. Forgot to check out the micro-adjust but that's a nice feature I'd like to see on the 3861. Lastly, the crystal on the FOIS is sapphire designed mimic the hesalite's dome and light refraction properties. Works really well, IMO. Seemed like a lot of glare and reflection but I was in a boutique at night so not sure what it wears like in daylight.

In terms of availability, it's not boutique only or even LE. He didn't have one to sell but said if I put a deposit, they'd have it in a week or two. I know OB doesn't typically discount but my AD offered 15% for the 3861 a couple of years ago so I wonder if we'll see discounts for this model after it's been out a while.

Yeah, the lume makes no sense...why, Omega, WHY?

The fauxtina doesn't bother me. I'm just waiting for a couple years for these to be more readily available and at a discount. I'm not paying $7900 plus tax for this.
