The question was simple (and yet…)

Anyway, yeah, the DJ and Hamilton certainly aren’t unique (duh!). But they’re also not DB watches.

Daytona and Nautilus are also NOT unique, but…perhaps…highly DB hyped?

Do you have an actual two-watch DB collection to call out, or were just a target desperately in search of the dart?

Actually, the Daytona and Nautilus are both considerably more unique than the Datejust, particularly the Nautilus. By many, many magnitudes. Patek makes maybe ~75-100 5811s a year. How many Datejusts come out of Rolex annually? 50,000? 100,000? 300,000?

i don't know what a douchebag watch is but i'm pretty sure the rainbow-jeweled daytonas (or tiger print ones) and a gold day-date would qualify.

I guess for me it’s the watches worn most for flex/clout/attention? (Super subjective, obviously, but NOT specifically tied to any single factor, like, say…uniqueness. Though, rarity does tend to ramp up the D-bag factor on many watches since it contributes to the flex/clout/attention vibe?)

So I guess the opposite of d-bag watches are those that are either ubiquitous (DJ?) and/or not particularly impressive (Hamilton?), or unique to the point of being less useful as a flex prop (ALS?)

Of course! Anyone can own any watch for any reason. I'm just asking what you guys think. Like, what two-watch collection (for whatever reason) strikes you as being douchy (despite the best intentions of the owner)?

To be very clear (again): I'm was asking a question. Not prescribing a definitive answer (though, I offered my 2cents when asked...)!
