HAHA. Your Tattoo took me to the Patek 5720 in celebration of the Shanghai boutique opening…
Not fan of the way these look. Just brushing the bracelet I understand. When the whole watch is brushed, it looks dull AF.Very excited to learn today that Eric Clapton also had his Daytonas brushed. In fact I was racked with envy when it first sounded like Rolex did it for him at the factory—but turns out he also had his watches modified by a third party after purchase.
That said, I don’t like he had absolutely every surface brushed, including the case and bracelet sides, which were polished even on vintage Daytonas.

Huh...never knew the IWC origin story:
Yeah, no real details. I was just surprised by the IWC American origins...Crappy video for factory tour...

The starfish broach 🤩That suit....good god
Exactly. Even of one looks at the old vintage manual wind Daytonas, they had polished case sides, polished bezels (on the ones that didn't have the black acrylic inserts), and their Oyster bracelets had polished center links.Fully brushed lack contrasts, even more on a gold watch.
Brushing is also more fitting of a tool watch as it’s less likely to show minor scratches. But obviously a full gold watch isn’t a tool watch.
Maybe with a different finish on the bezel it would look less dull.
Maybe the answer to that question is to call Rolliworks, and see what the cost is for them servicing your bracelet, and call a Rolex Service center to see what the cost of a new bracelet would be, then make your decision.Speaking of Rolex bracelets, my 2003 GMT bracelet has got some sag to it these days - thoughts or opinions on whether to have it serviced by 3rd party or replaced by Rolex at its next standard service in a couple of years?
Also, are there any recommendations on shops that will just service the bracelet? Rolliworks still the #1 go to for that type of work?
