I’m a fan of Baltic’s new field watches. Brown and blue are the colors that speak to me the most. I'd also like to see them release more traditional black and white models down the line.

On Friday i was invited to purchase a 5088, personally I find it atrocious. However, as I refused the 5189 offered thinking this might be a necessary purchase to attain my goal of a 5370 sometime next year…
I have never before purchased a watch I do not like (edit: Except silly holiday purchases), and really do not want to start now.

Conflicted.

Very quick non-watch tangent (because I remember a few of you are knife people): Can anyone recommend a few go-to brands for [high end] everyday pocket knives?

The 9th hole approach shot is always tricky. Chasing daylight...

I have been watching more Indian content online recently, most recently the excellent Indian medical thriller Kaala Paani on Netflix.

One thing that has struck me is that I see a lot more rectangular watches in these stories than I see in the US.

Can anyone fill me in on these seeming differences in national preferences? There are rarely closeup shots which allow identifying individual brands or models.

Ok, watches…(but thanks for the knife info!)

I’m thinking about getting a beater field watch. I think I’ve narrowed it down to the Hamilton khaki field 38mm in bronze or steel. I want the bronze, but it comes on what appears to be a chunky leather nato and since the watch is bronze, I’m guessing that finding alternative straps with bronze hardware will be impossible.

Any other beater field watches options I might look into?

A bit more unusual, but their field watch looks great (Swiss made, automatic, certified chronometer, and great value IMO)
