It's kind of weird they make you "upgrade" the metal. Asked for WG, which I figured would be similar to the rose gold in price, but apparently not. So going to see what it looks like $ wise if I change a few specs and do rosegold, black guilloched dial and heat blued hands + numerals at 12, 3, 9.

Yes but the normal Tank LC in RG is just under $13k and on strap. Assuming 20% markup for customization before metal upgrade then you're looking at $15k additional to go from RG to platinum.

I think part of it is because Cartier doesn't really offer WG in their current catalog so there's a huge upcharge. @Dino944 probably knows more but I think they only do steel, RG, YG, and platinum.

Yeah, it's not a default model for the Santos. So retrying with rose gold to see if that lowers the cost.
