At the risk of being tarred and feathered, all I want is an automatic Speedy without the “professional on the dial and a ceramic bezel. That’s it. Don’t change anything else. I’d literally wear it every day. I hate manually winding this ****.

I thought you wished no ceramic bezel, but evidently I misunderstood your words.

Horrible date window...

Not only the date window, the whole watch design does not appeal to me.

Junghans in fact is an interesting brand with some nice pieces, like this one.

George Santos: "See this watch here? It's the most difficult-to-get watch in the world. Huge waiting list, sells for 3x retail on the gray market. But I was able to jump the line. Why? It's named after my great-grandfather."

Happy New Year, folks!

Anybody have [realistic] acquisitions you hope to add this year?

I’m enjoying a modest 5-watch rotation at the moment and am feeling rather content. I still want a heavy-hitting dress watch (ALS 1, or maybe 1815), but other than that, I’m actually not actively on the hunt for anything…feels weird…

This year, I do not have any large acquisitions planned. Probably not the year after either - quite frankly, I want to start saving up for a ski house and I do not have much in the way of wants or needs on the pricier end of things.

That said, I am interested in adding a moderately priced watch or two. Maybe a Tudor, maybe a Doxa, maybe a Seiko - I have nothing in mind at this point, but something to kick around. The Explorer has been that watch for me, but I wouldn't mind adding another watch that fills that same role. The Speedmaster gets a lot of casual wear, but it is pretty terrible at fitting underneath a cuff.

Rumor is that beloved Richemont trash brand Panerai is coming out with a 40mm wire lug Radiomir

Nice plan.

I love my Doxa fwiw.

I never button my cuffs, so any watch works (re speedmaster)…

cheers!
