Hi,

Anyone have a recommendation on service and repair for this JLC Master Mariner and IWC Cal 89? Both belonged to my father. I believe both are from the 1960s. I serviced two vintage Rolexes a couple of years ago, and there seemed to be more of a consenses on the top tier independent shops for vintage Rolex. Any certification I should be looking for in an independent shop? Better to try to send back to the maker?

Thanks

You can try Al at archerwatches.ca he worked on my 60s JLC with Cal K886 last summer and also the previous service. He has a lot of US customers.

Hey everyone, just wanted to share that my wife and I got some watches yesterday. Technically the reverso is for her, but dang does it look good on me too...

It was between the reverso, gold tank, or gold Santos for her. I've now been tasked with finding a vintage gold tank or panthere...

This is the reverso on her wrist, just comparing it to her apple watch.

My perfect 3 watch collection from what I own. The Tank XL for dress or sometimes even casual. The GMT because I find another time zone more useful than greater water resistance of my Sub, and I rarely use the chrono function on my Daytonas or Pasha. RO for luxury sports watch, but if availability and/or price were an issue, I'd gladly put my Santos in its place.

Congrats on the watches you picked up! Both are fantastic choices! I love the Santos rubber straps for summer! I hope you both enjoy the watches and get many years of enjoyment from them.
