I just got one. I bought a few things recently during the fall corporate sales (a Filson case and some pants) after a period of inactivity so it's not like I need to be brought back into the store.

Hey guys, shameless plug alter! I'm selling off a bunch of shirts I have that don't fit any more. If any of you are a size 15 and interested feel free to let me know. Bundle deals no problem, and I'm not trying to make much from these - just getting them to move into a good home.

Also, not sure if it is against protocol to post listings on this thread. If it is, I'll happily delete this post. I don't want spam on here any more than the next guy...

Hi guys, quick one, anyone knows of a good suit alterations tailor close to Bloor West Village? Friend asked me, I know no one, so... The operation is changing the lining on a jacket.

I started the thread. I think it's a good idea when selling to post here, so long as it doesn't break the rules in B&S. I think the advantage of being able to buy quality stuff locally and avoid shipping and customs outweighs the downside to seeing an extra post about stuff being for sale.

If it gets out of control, we could break out a separate Toronto B&S thread, like the Toronto Tailor's thread (again, as long as it doesn't break the B&S rules).

Anyone oppose?

I don't mind, heck I have a few items I'd like to list up too and ideally would rather someone local just took them off my hands instead of shipping across the world.

I have a corporate membership but it seems that you need to purchase something first before they may possibly send you one of these 40% off offers. Well I do need some shoelaces. :D

Maybe a sub-thread for Toronto Sales would be better? Seems like this thread has been pretty active, so I imagine they wouldn't get lost on a dedicated post of its own and anyone who wants could subscribe to it. Keeps all the sales in one place - arguably allows for timely bumps/ reminders, and keeps The Ultimate from getting bogged down with listings?

If you agree, I can start a new thread for this and that'll be a good place for us all to buy and sell local.

Does anyone know anything about Treccani Milano? They claim to make bespoke shoes and shirts using artisans based in Italy. They have a store in Yorkville a few doors down from Leatherfoot.

Website here.
Instagram here.

I think it's a great idea. I recently had a very positive experience buying locally from a SF member (what up @Steel28 !). The obvious plus here is being able to try on an item before buying.

Edit: A standard "SF10" discount could be cool too.

A Toronto sale thread would be great. I'm selling Buttero and Wolverine boots and much prefer a local buyer.

I'd vote to just put stuff for sale in this thread. Post each item ONCE. Seems to be the same 20-30 guys in here anyways. And we're already subscribed.

Wouldn't mind a local sales thread as long as it's decently active...

(BTW any suit in 46, shoes in 10 or shirts in 17 hit me up :slayer:)

Thanks @Coronaeus good tip. What's the general price point? I'm thinking those frames are probably closer to the $3-400 range?

@akoustas given it's in Chinatown, guessing the pricing is good. Surprised the service is (that's usually where it breaks down). Will check out.
Yes, somewhere in that range, at least for the two brands I mentioned, that I have purchased. They do have other interesting brands for less though. Certainly worth a look if you are ever in the area.

I would second this. I'm not sure there would be enough traffic to justify browsing a Toronto B&S thread regularly.
