The patina is developing wonderfully on my Honey Glazed Ottawas (Grant Stone). I hadn’t noticed this at first, but the heel counters are inverse (color-wise). So much character.

Just the counters? The entire shoes look like they are colour inverse on each side! The patina is developing wonderfully on my Honey Glazed Ottawas (Grant Stone). I hadn’t noticed this at first, but the heel counters are inverse (color-wise). So much character.

Yes you are right, seems shell colour shift varies dramatically with the lighting.Mhmm. It appears so. The difference is indistinguishable depending on the angle and the lighting:

It’s why I love shell so much..the variation. 💕The viewing angle also changes the color. Keep the light the same and view the heel counters from the rear and then from the front. I have some whiskey saddles and the light and dark areas will flip when viewed from the opposite angle.

Nice! Did you have that made? Which last is it on? I have a Berwick from the early 1980s on the 3 last. Oops, I'm assuming AE. Is it Allen Edmonds or other? thanks
