1999 produttori single vineyard barbaresco. Delicious. HIghly acidic. Bricky red, almost brown. Years to go, I would guess. Not experienced enough to say if fully mature, but delicious. Went well with veal marengo.

Not a huge fan of California Central Coast pinot noirs, but picked this up at a discount price because I recalled having liked the producer.

Slightly disappointing, even at the price ($18). Has the rubber/tar/petrol flavor going on and it's a bit viscous. Oh well.

Which cru? Great value for those wines.

I picked up this guy the other night. Never had a Portuguese wine before. Varietals I have never heard of. It is very, very young being a 2013, but this has some serious potential. I bet in 4years this will be a gem. Upside, it is only $8.50. I'll be buying more as daily drinkers. I think this wine just has so much potential if you want to store it.

I've had a bottle of La Rioja Alta Viña Alberdi Reserva 2007 today. More approachable than that other 2005 La Rioja Alta I've just had.
Also had a bottle of Bruno Giacosa Roero Arneis '11 yesterday. Had it thrice so far, one of my favorite Arneis.

I had a rioja alta ardenza reserva recently that I thought was pretty damn good. That and a muga reserva. Just such good value

Kinda blown away by a 2007 Heitz Trailside from a restaurant. I typically really don't like young cab, but this was great. Outshone many far more expensive bottles I sampled. Quintessa, e.g., just sucked by comparison. Local store here has the 2006 for $70, which is expensive (should be $60-$65) but I am going to grab one anyway.
