But what do I do with the remaining 1EUR? ;)

On a more serious note: that one I can get relatively easy, so I will definitely check it out.

re: great under 150 euro buys, you should have asked this question a year ago - some of my favorite champagnes were under your pricing limbo bar just last year. they've since gone through the roof

Totally unrelated to the champagne discussion, I had this half-bottle of Chardonnay tonight at one of my favourite restaurants. Nothing super fancy, but well enough to support foie gras and lobster soup ;)

I've only had one bottle of Marie-Noelle Ledru Champagne and it was ******* awesome. Have been wanting to drink more ever since.

I always think of the wines as maybe the platonic ideal of grower champagne which is not to say they are my favorite but they check a lot of boxes for what anybody might want. sadly and not surprisingly they've been more problematic to source at reasonable pricing these days

Yes, this is pretty sad and goes as well for quite a number of luxury items. Prices have been exploding in some areas in the past two or three years.

Believe La Grand Année should be doable for less than €150 which together with Taittinger Comtes used to be nice value. One you could look in to is André Clouet 1911 for significant less money but might be tricky to find. Vve-Fourny & Fils Cuvee du clos Notre Dame also a good buy. Drappier grande sendrée. R&L Legras or Paul Bara if looking for age at solid pricedrange View attachment 1824915 View attachment 1824916 View attachment 1824917 View attachment 1824918 View attachment 1824920 View attachment 1824921 View attachment 1824922
Hows the Bara Comtesse vs their Special Clubs?

My best Somm buddy got divorced earlier this year and is now just bouncing around France texting me drunk from famous vineyards. Today was Romanée-Conti.

I feel ... somewhat conflicted.

would be great to hear that you are in the east coast of the US. Just casually having champagne for breakfast with a bacon/egg/cheese sandwich.

Sorry to disappoint… it is just early afternoon in Europe, but complimentary food is still very good
