Whelp, I almost got all of the stuff processed from last weekend in time for my 10:30 EST cutoff....but not quite. I would have made it, but it is my Brother in Laws birthday and he wanted to go to dinner an hour away. He ate ribs, which they have at 3 places locally. lol

I still have shirts, sweaters and a few accessories.

These few did make the deadline.
NY/NJ Thrift Trip
Category 7 - Odds and Ends

Polka Dot Robe. Large enough for a Man, made for a woman (shoulder pads could be removed)

Spurr Selvage Jeans

NIB KitchenAid Mixer. The exact model and color we already have. Third one of these I have found.
Couple scuffs, as this was a display model.

Also, does anyone have a good guide for making a PS? I have a few things I could probably make one with, but don't want to destroy something while attempting it.
Hidden slip stitch. There are several tutorials on YouTube. If you're handy with a needle, the stitching is the easy part (though getting the "visible" part as small as the professionals takes some practice). The hard part is getting an even, tight roll and neat corners. It's a fun project, but very, very time consuming.
One of those times when styling trumps name reconnection.
Exactly. I don't even want to know what those are. --- Yesterday and today. I never pick up Paul Millar

I figured it was worth the gamble...

No idea on size. I can get into it wearing a T-shirt, but it's tight. Guessing it's like a 36ish. What would that make it? There's no sizing label inside :/

If it was my size, it would quickly become a summer staple for me. I would wear the hell out of it!

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the sizing is 1=44 2=46 3=48 4=50 5=52. All I know is 4 is my size and I should never dare venture down to 3. And re: your last comment...

-I'm actually going to take the advice of some of the people on this thread (looking at you @size 38R et al.) and take the time to think of an ideal/style I want to project and build to that instead of collecting lots of stuff too fast and flailing about after that.

That's good advice, and I don't want to contradict it too much, but...

FWIW, I think the process is partly restraint but also trial and error. You can't just imagine yourself into a personal style. It's something that develops over time, in part through the way you want to look, but also what looks good on you / what you feel comfortable in, and what works with your lifestyle. The only way you can know those last few things is by trying the clothes on and wearing them, and the only way you can do that is by buying them. Along the way, you'll probably end up selling some stuff you thought would work but just doesn't (hopefully not at too much of a loss, if any), but that's just part of the journey. And it's also where shopping at thrifts / being thrifty in general can come in handy in terms of minimizing the damage.

I always see samuelsohn suits, I guess i'm just trying to hard to find that kiton/Isaia. Maybe I should start picking those up, also i've never seen a hickey freeman in Toronto, I guess those don't travel much.

Like all things, HF makes its way up from time to time. But it's kind of the Samuelsohn of the U.S. in terms of cut/quality/flippability anyway, so you're not missing a whole lot.

In that case, flippability would be roughly the same, maybe less searched for I guess. Hows sammy sell for you?

Where in toronto are you from?

If for some reason someone is specifically looking for HF let me know. I live in Rochester, NY where we have a factory store, I see HF at the various thrifts on a regular basis.

Spoo,
Any value here? Sorry for the god awful pictures, but I had to shoot them in a window. Seem to be real and made of maybe...cow fur. Size is 7.5.

Thanks; indeed. Another example of shopping quality. I had never heard of Piccolo before seeing him in the store, and my phone was in the car. First thing I noticed was the buttons/holes. When I saw the hand stitching on the collar, I knew it needed further inspection. When I saw the shoulders, I tore the ******* store apart to find the others.
