^^^NICE score on the Lobbs. I hear you Nak... I have negative luck when it comes to shoes.

Hit so many thrifts today my head was spinning. No clothing at all but for 2 ties (Paul Stuart, Nicky Milano). That's it. I'm bummed about that.

I did pick up more albums though. 35 LPs for around $20. Hard to beat. But where were the clothes!?

Yeah - I've never found a pair of nice shoes. I don't know what it is about them. I was supposed to get some in a trade, but that's not working to well....

Wow, more albums. I came across a great collection of early 70's classic rock today. A lot of nice covers, but despite the nice covers and the vinyl being kept in the original paper sleeves, the vinyl was trashed on every single one! Thing is, this place had $3 each on the albums, just beause they were classic rock. Right....even the nicer covers weren't worth that, as it was pretty mainstream stuff.

I picked up a nice sweater today. Lambswool, MOP buttons, built just like the Pringle I found with it.
The label says "TWEEDS Made in UK". Do any of you know anything about that brand?

Today was good for the most part.... Canali shirt Brioni tie Longchamp cashmere cardigan(didn't know they made clothes) Nordstrom cashmere crew neck Brooks Brothers tan broken bone sportcoat I've been looking for some good quality suits for quite some time now, and today was frustrating. There were 2 older BB makers suits that were stiff as a board, and 3 orphaned BB madison jackets in my size. Also two Donna Karan signature jackets missing pants as well.

I have a couple nice(belvest & southwick) suits that I hope to fit into eventually, but nothing worthwhile right now.

Picked these up today for $9
they are made by a Canadian company called Hartt. From a bit of reading, they seem to have been owned by Church's and also made models for Dacks.
The sole is Goodyear.
I think after a little life is brought back to them they will be pretty wonderful.

Yep, put them in trees and give them a quick brush polish. They look great.

Greetings fellow thrifters! This thread is the primary reason for me to come out of lurk-mode and start adding my own 2 cents here.

Didn't make it out this weekend

.....bot oh well. Last weekend I did find a few things though:

navy v-neck lambswool sweater by Pringle, practically unworn J Crew button-down, and a grey tweed BB sport coat. Not the most spectacular finds, I know, but decent enough for the prices, especially the Pringle sweater. And it all fits very well, except the coat needs the sleeves shortened. Easy alteration for me.

I've been an avid thrifter for the better part of my life, and thanks to styleforvm (and all of you) I've gotten even better at it. This thread has been pretty inspirational, just reading about and seeing all of the finds makes me really want to hit the circuit in my area.

Thanks for reading, and happy hunting to all!

It was kind of a nice coat, too. If anybody's 6'11", I left it at the Hollywood Goodwill...

Today, down in the Haight, I purchased a 44R wool 3-piece suit which states in the inside label "Designed by Nino Cerruti . . . Tailored by Brandeis . . . Nebraska". I am to assume the fabric was manufactured by Cerruti? It fits very well, regardless, and dates back to the 70's and is in excellent condition.

Having a thrift store on the walk home from work has made me lazy...

I don't go anywhere else, but this place has bad selection and is overpriced. Since I've moved into a new place, I have been browsing the household items a lot...and frequently stuff almost matches its brand new prices...also this store has employees doing pricing who know what stuff is worth and price it accordingly (they have a mid century sofa sitting on the floor...$1500 and has been there for weeks).

Their clothes just seem really picked over...the location is too good and as such all the good stuff gets bought fast despite the high prices.

I just picked up a NWT Brooks Brothers 1818 suit in my hard to find size $90. Not a steal for some of you guys, but for me it was a great pick up.
