Unusual but quite nice jacket--large pattern shetland two-button three patch ventless db with Tautz lapels; made in Italy for Alexander Julian (the maker then, I believe, was Zegna). The plaid is quite muted. And though it sounds like rather a mouthful the whole effect is decidedly minimalist. $2.99 I'll wear it tonight, probably with jeans and brown pebble grain SM monks.

Today...my first day off the No Purchase wagon.... ALDO Single Monkstrap
  • Ultra Deep Burgundy (almost appears black in the half light)
  • Made In Italy
  • Full leather uppers, insoles & soles (Double-Soles by the way).
  • Virtually like new
  • Total Damage: $6.99 (CDN)
They are probably from the early-mid 1990's, but it didn't bother me at all. Here are some photos....I can take it...tell me the truth....

Found a really nice Ben Silver tie today, as well as a couple nice blue OCBDs:

BB slim Fit (must iron)
RL 'Broadmore'(?)

Also - I'm heading to Philly later this month. Anyone have any thrift/goodwill stores to recommend?

db Brioni jacket in worsted brown cashmere with slate blue and russet overcheck; Flaminio model, perfect condition; $20 (a year ago it would have been $7.99 or so, but I'm really not complaining).

Found an incredible Brioni solid navy suit in 42L, model Palatino and 2 Loro Piana pure cashmere sportcoats in 46. Too bad not in my size, they will be for trade.

I'm usually not a fan of Hugo Boss, but I found a NWOT Hugo Boss Harris Tweed 2 btn blazer today with a (tab?) lapel....I'm not sure what it's called otherwise or if that's even the correct term. The nice lady gave me 1/2 off, which brought it to $2.50. I didn't have any cash on me and they have some stupid new rule as min. credit card purchases have to be $5. Sooo I grabbed a Polo RL blue chalkstripe sportcoat just to get me to the $5 mark. I don't really want the Polo, so it'll be in the b/s thread for what I paid for it ($4.99). I also came across a Ralph Lauren alpaca/wool sportcoat today at one of the thrifts. It has Ralph Lauren in script like on BL and PL tags, but the tag was blue. It was also made in the USA and I know PL and BL are made in Italy and England. Anyone else seen this before/know anything about it? I know it was legit, but I've just never come across something like this before. Please excuse the crappy cell-phone pictures.
