Welcome G!

Gents, a few questions I'd love your input on. First off, are these moleskin, or just brushed cotton of some sort? I went with the latter.
Basically it's brushed heavy twill. I LOVE pants like this. I know they don't get much respect here, if any, but BR used to make a pant like this, and it was actually pretty nice. I'd love to know the deets on these. Not a 36/31 by any chance are they?

Man, I haven't posted here in ages. Glad to see a lot of you guys still having awesome finds. I went out for the first time in about a year and 3 months today and really didn't get much. 4-5 pairs of Zanella/Zanella Platinum, a few staple Zegna shirts, an awesome BB mainline camel hair blazer and some random Southwick blazer with working cuffs. Felt good to buy **** again! Will post pictures when I'm out of work ^_^

Went to Marshall's to return some stuff... Picked up something Cloudveil, something Rag + Bone and some things John Varvatos. Decent stuff, no time for pics yet.

Unfortunately they're 33.5-31... I wish I had a pair in my size, they are so nice.

I hit a lot of stores today and I saw flippers at every single one. I even overheard one guy at a Goodwill telling someone on the phone that he had "listed 150 items on eBay yesterday after he got home." He was copping mostly jeans and shirts, casual stuff. At my first stop I picked up 3 jackets and walked around with them, a Brooks Brothers 1818, Some random Made In Italy Jacket, and a Pronto Umo Made in Italy. They were all orphans and I was just not feeling it. I spent 10 minutes looking for pants and put them back. Then a flipper comes behind me and picks up all three and tosses them in his cart.

Anyway, what I did get:

The shoes are Jeffery West and they are Sting Chukkas, jacket is Polo by Ralph Lauren made in the USA and is Silk, Wool, Linen blend. The jeans are my first Selvage ever. Strangely they are Gap 1969 Authentic Japanese Denim and going to my wife. The jacket feels really nice and is 40R and is available. I am not too sure about the Jeffery West shoes yet. They are sized an 8 but I have them on now and they only feel a little too small. I always wanted a pair of wicked witch of the west shoes!

Kuhlman, Sisley and Hamilton. I'd never heard of Hamilton before, but it felt so nice I had to kop. Has anyone had luck thrifting them?

Harris Tweed cloth cap. Unfortunately too big for me.

I've never heard of "London Character" shoes, but they look on par with Florsheim, and were dirt cheap.

Little Supergas

J Lindberg and Rag & Bone

And the estate sale had several hats: Dobs, Dobs, Dobs, Dobs, and this:

Plus, it's impossible to find metal tools made in America, so I kopped these. I used to work on guitars, and you could never have too many 6" rulers.

I swear this thread has magical synergy powers...

I had never seen any Ibex in the wild before and what do you know, today I come across a super thick navy colored wool 1/4 zip.

Then someone asks if some pants are moleskin, and I come across these Helmut Lang moleskin pants, tagged 31 but fit me like a glove.

That's it for the magic but I also picked up a stack of 4 pairs of diesel jeans, none fit me unfortunately so I'll dish them out for cost + shipping to anyone who wants them. Sizes from front to back: 31, 30, 28, 28.

+1

I remember with fondness some BR pants like this that I got in the early 90s. All though I'm still somewhat thin, I was skinnier then so they were donated as an offering to the thrift gods not too long ago. :D
