Following @snackbandit is a tough row to hoe, but we all know it pays to check the pockets on reversible vests and jackets.

NWOT ancient Harris Tweed in my size, also $8

Anybody know how to date these? I'm thinking 80's but not sure. The retailer was local in SF but long gone, no info on Google.

Recent ethrifted Florsheim vintage shell for personal. These are black but have some burgundy undertones in outdoor light.

And then, a hoarder car in the parking lot of the store today. This one is almost undriveable.

Well, tough to follow that monster haul of grail-level stuff from snackbandit, but here are my very average pickings from yesterday's trip to Phoenix to pick up live auction winnings from Sunday.

The story is that I'm really trying to figure out what gives me the best bang for the buck in the flipping business, and based on my run through a dozen or so thrifts in great demographics, there just wasn't much there. I have to assume either I was in someone's wake, or there are too many flippers in greater Phx, which would not be surprising out of 5 million folks. I know my standards are getting ever higher, but nonetheless . . .

Half of what's shown below came from a consignment progressive sale at 70% off lowest marked price, which equates to thrift prices.

FWIW, I'm finding by far the best return from live auctions (with estate sales in second place), not least because only people who take the time to show up get to bid, and that lowers the odds of competition. I bought a trailer's worth of upscale furniture that went straight to the consignment store, where it sells pretty quickly and for great $$$. I also like it because I don't have to do anything once it's there. Just collect the check when it sells.

Before I post the thrift run, here's a personal e-thrift brag: shorter shaft T.O. Stanley bench-made boots for my own collection. Most of my western boots are exotic hides, so I wanted a daily-wear pair that looked a bit more conventional, more like a regular boot. Very happy with these. Love that French toe.

BTW, the one glaring gap in my western boot collection is the absence of s3a turtl1e, so if anyone has picked a pair in 10.5 or 11 D or E, please PM.

OK, back to thrift: awesome DB wool/cash PRL herringbone

Don't normally bother with Zanella, but these minty current ones are cool. My size too.

Some shirts. The Rubinacci is linen, and that awesome muted plaid gives it a vintage-patina look. Might have to keep that one.

The Marinella tie in this grouping was the only item worth kopping in one entire Savers (at least the parts I scoured). I always scratch my head as to how a single such item can end up in a place with nothing else.

And finally, I was happy to see this: Bang & Olufsen Beolab1 receiver/CD. Very cool design. Probably not picked already as it had no cord, but I had a matching one at home and it fired right up. The antenna motors up and down at the touch of a button, and the display is the red LEDs behind the grille. These do pretty well, so it proved worth rolling the dice.

@snackbandit always love your posts! I’m sure you get asked all the time but if you don’t mind sharing your picture taking setup I’d love to see how you make your pics so amazing. Besides the item being photographed always being amazeballs. Ha

Ps re the Barcelona ,not really well versed on those hard to tell from those pics too.
Also my friend has that same light but the real deal from a Hollywood studio from the 30s I think .
Problem is you turn it on for 10 min and the whole condo is like a sauna.

Was gonna say Gucci as well but it would say Gucci on the buttons no.
And I'm not sure Tom sig line would have lining like that but could be wrong as well.

Guess the maker . . . Actually, there's a clue in the image that gives it away completely. Bonus points for calling it out.

From the photo the only words I can see were "Show" and "NYC". I looked up "Show NYC suit lining" and found this image:
suit-liner-style-design-color-pattern-bespoke-custom-customize-two-suits-525x700.jpg

That lining on the right appears to be the same pattern, but slightly different colors? Never heard of this brand before but I would guess it based on the lining, though linings can be used by anyone, : Senszio?
