Either anti-theft or anti-theft recovery, haha. @Sartoriamo
Thieves rattle can bikes to make them harder to identify, too.
When I lived in Seattle I had one of those cool Montague paratrooper folding bikes and I wrapped that thing’s frame with black electrical tape to make it seem cheap. Worked. Never got stolen. I credit the tape job, but it might have been the ugly aesthetic of the bike itself. Haha

The weather looks like **** the next couple of weeks, so my millennial's workshop (i.e. my deck in the backyard of my rental) might be shut down for the winter. I was able to finish these pieces over the last couple of weeks. A few more are small enough that I should be able to put a tarp down in the basement and complete them. Will post pics when done.

I really like this furniture refinishing niche. Doing the work is therapeutic and it just feels so much better than striking out at the thrift.

I had a knock-down argument with my dad this week over his boomer disdain for me doing this as a hobby. He can't figure out how or why I would do this instead of lying on the couch watching Netflix. He's stuck in the boomerverse of 1993 when a house in Toronto was $250,000 and payroll taxes were $1,500 and the counterman at the deli retired at 55 to his 2nd or 3rd home (cottage or place in Miami). Sad to say the money from this side hustle is actually being used to pay the bills. Which caused him to flip out.

This table was marked down to $5 at the thrift because the '70s lacquer finish had turned green. Probably my favourite transformation:

A few things from last week.

No mohair left behind.

I usually don't pick up Bobby Jones, but this was one of my exceptions. I had this exact jacket about 8-10 years ago. Alpaca lining.

I found this several months back, but can't recall if I posted it. Finally got around to photographing it. Another Bobby Jones exception.

This is pretty wild.

Recent finds...

Nothing available at the moment.

Vintage bespoke on the left and shearling on the right. Center is normally a nothing brand, but really knocked it out of the park on that one.

Grabbed a guy's bespoke shoe collection. He has good taste. Pair on the far right are from him but Ludwig Reiter. Front are Lendvay & Schwarcz.

I think this is either Pringle or Peter Scott. Probably a moot point, didn't notice a repair that was made front and center.
