This was kind of a funny occurance and showed me just how much a brand can change and advance over time..

Saw this label inside a gray wool bomber style coat at a store recently:

Initially I tossed it into my cart, but I knew something was wrong with it... Made in China? Weird looking font and "New York City"?.. lacking quality of construction and no material content tags inside. I figured it was fake and left it, even for $15. No way 3Sixteen would EVER make something in China and have such a weird looking, somewhat sloppily attached, label right?... Wrong.

Got home later and did some more research, that led me to find this on their blog:

Which led me to lookup their 2008 collection and yep, there it was:

3sixteen---holiday-2008-collection---4.webp

3sixteen---holiday-2008-collection---7.webp

I still don't think it would've gone for much, but It was just funny to learn all that. I took 3Sixteen for an American Heritage brand that would never outsource or make things that weren't of the highest grade construction. :hide:

Sooooo the project bike I got last time wasn’t really a project; just needed cables and brakes. Was finished in an hour. New saddle and bar tape will be set for the Norco at month end... but that’s it.

So I did what rationale person would do and searched on Facebook for bikes in worse state.

Bought one; ended up with two lol not bad for $40

@Thrift Vader it’s time to build a fixie; chromoly too! Mmmm
