That's an interesting Brioni, and here's the story: the SSSSSS logo is from the old Syms stores (there were once 48 or so in 13 states, and the legendary Filene's Basement in Boston was a subsidiary). I researched this 20 years ago when I lived in the Boston area (and Filene's was still around), as I used to find quite a lot of CM with that label. Sy Syms liked to buy unlabeled "white stock" from various houses, including Brioni, as we see here, and then apply his own SSSSSS logo. You had to know your inside labels to figure out who made a particular garment (as that's how I would list them). This one's easy of course, but some of the others were a stretch, and certainly helped me develop some knowledge of manufacturer labels. Your CM trivia for the day . . .

This is really cool. 80s (maybe 70s?) Red Stripe Jamaica souvenir tee, still in the original plastic bag. Not sure what I’m gonna do, keep it bagged or open and wear it…

Yup, we had this conversation in this thread years ago. I can’t remember what I did yesterday but I do remember that Syms had private labels making their tailoring for them back in the day. 😂😂😂

Took a Tokyo trip after a few years of abysmal German thrifting. That city absolutely ruined vintage shopping for me, nothing will ever compare to it.

I ended up buying way too much but thought I'd highlight my two favorite "true-thrifts" opposed to some of the higher priced stuff. Pedals are NIB titanium MKS
