Anyone know what this is? The care tag is all in Japanese- but it's nice Indigo dyed with smoked mother of pearl buttons so I copped

Not sure on the maker, but the LL size would have been made for the Japanese market.

I'm not well-versed with vintage Levi's, but is there a stamp on the back of the top button? I think that number stamped onto the back of the button has some significance.

@IRKSM yep looks like a 501 from here - lol repairs but maybe care stamp is still on the inside pocket? i'd guess a smaller size otherwise it'd have another button.

comp deetz here: https://www.denimbro.com/thrifters-thread-levis-501-1960s1990s_topic2908.html

Thanks! No luck on the care stamp :/

One decent find today. Older Alden longwings model 97788. Need a little time in trees and saphir love and care.

I assume Barrie last?

the first stamps were 2, 4, 8, etc single digit. looks good.

care stamp washes out, yours looked pretty dark. cool soft fade.

Anyone know what maker writes inside their shoes like this? Probably should've taken a pic of the entire shoe but live and learn I guess.

Can confirm, still alive and a thrivin'. Thanks for the thoughts, warm fuzzies all round. Would post more photos, but barely have enough time to go find the gemz, much less share them on the internet. Will post some interesting odds and ends tomorrow - the wheat, the chaff, who's to say which is which? I think this is where the struggle both begins, and ends... If we had editors, we wouldn't have this thread - but we would have more free time, and perhaps better content? Is this why forums died in favor of the blog? The mysteries of life, to be continued.

Those are Church's with a replacement insole, if my eyes do not deceive me. Those are Cowes, which would make them a lovely double monkstrap. Sexy pair of shoes
