I usually have no trouble id'ing shell, but e-thrifted these and wasnt expecting shell but once i got them i'm not sure. I know nothing on Meermin, thoughts shell or not?
Yeah, shell. Not Horween, but shell. They've used shell from various South American and Japanese tanneries, and some of the early batches especially had quality control problems. I ordered a pair of shell PTBs a few years ago that were just like this - looked fine at first, but as soon as I wore them, the color started coming off in the ripples and they seemed very dry. I returned them.
If any of you gents are located close to Kentucky? Can you shoot me a pm? I got a friend over there who could use a thrift sensei. :)
I'm in Louisville, too. If your friend is in Lexington, @AlanC hasn't been around here in the thread in a while, but he lives there and might be able to help. Couple finds: Orvis safari jacket, my size, NA

I guess this listing belonged to someone here or that knows someone here, cuz the price more than doubled and they added Cucinelli to the title haha
How much was it before it was mentioned here?

I know nothing of sneakers, but I grabbed these without hesitation. They looked vintage, had their box, and were made in Austria, something I'd never seen before. They sold in 5 minutes to an Adidas seller, so I think I must have underpriced them. Sneaker guys, any idea on how rare they might be?

Pretty ******* rare. Just look at the condition of that box, let alone the shoes themselves. If I had to say, out of all the brands, Adidas collectors are most serious about their Adidas. Absolute gem you had there.

Thanks for the info! I let them go for €250...I now see a similar pair for €800ish that didn't show up when I was researching. I knew the box had value, but nowhere near that kind of weight. I saw an identical pair (without box) go unsold at €210 and was resisted at €190. Looks like I left money on the table, but I guess I can't complain!

I have a Sneaker Freaker magazine that has a interview with an Adidas collector based out of Europe (go figure) and his specialty was Adias EQT models from the 90s. Said he's paid up to $1500 for an DS pair. Adidas collecting is serious. HMU next time I'd be happy to help you out.

At least you have the pics for the memories.

It was like $112 then went to $275 then changed again to like $180. They are quite indecisive.

So it seems, I guess their adviser told them that was a high asking, and might take awhile to flip.
