Hi all. I recently bought a pair of RRL straight-leg rinsed denim jeans:

http://www.ralphlauren.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11750058

They're by far the nicest pair of jeans I've bought - previously I've really just owned a bunch of Levis 514s. I'm hoping they may fit similarly. Aside from "wearing 90 days without washing", anything special I need to do? And if anyone owns these jeans, what are your thoughts?

Sorry for the newbie-ish questions!

It depends on how you want your jeans to look. An incredible pair of RRL and by far the best straight-fit fades I've seen (from right here on pg 71):

Evolution of the Flip phone fade on my #RRL Straight Leg Rigid Selvedge from ~2008 and the repair. Some detail shots of my RRL Straight Leg Rigid, Japanese Selvedge, Made in USA. I started wearing these on 12/30/08. I can't believe that was almost 7 years ago. These had about 9 months of actual wear, 1 hot wash and dry #rawdenim #365daysofraw #denim #denimporn #selvage #selvedge #jeans #rrl #doublerl #japaneseselvedge #rawfie

^Nice jeans my friend! Killer wash. How is the weight and softness? They look much better than the RL RRL website pics. If I get brave enough to try the slim fit, I am all over these.

Real lightweight and soft guessing due to the nature of the distressing.

Here's the work shirt sweater. I know I promised pics to a couple people. Sorry it took so long to deliver, moving is a pain.

Excuse the messy bed.

Highly recommend Deeznuts as a proxy. Easy, quick and reliable. Also a really nice guy who has gone out of his way to help me out.

So I got my RRL straight-leg rinsed denim jeans in the mail today. They are fantastic quality and beautiful looking.

Unfortunately, they seem way too big. Too loose in the waist and too long. I usually wear 32x30 in Levis and I wear 32x30 in RL blue label straight-fit chinos, both of which fit on the snugger/tighter side for me. I realize you can't really compare fits from one Ralph Lauren brand to another, and certainly not to another brand (Levis) entirely, but these pants feel at least 1 (maybe 2) inches too loose in the waist, and at least 2 inches too long length-wise. Width of the thighs/legs seems ok, but tough to tell when the rest of the fit is off.

Disappointed, as I was really hoping to enjoy these pants. I guess it's not expected to wash them right after you get them, and even so I doubt they'd shrink enough anyway . . .

Thanks for sharing. I really like that sweater/shirt. How is the fabric on the liner?
