Regardless of your point of view on this, I think the following statement is inarguable:

“You choose clothes because you dress to be seen, and to be seen is what it means to dress well,” he said. “The motivation of putting on a nice outfit is lower when you transport yourself in one box to go to your office and you go back to your car and go back home.”
Maybe. I dress for the office and the day I expect to have. Not super interested in what folks on Metro think but I get his point.

I got some chocolate knives by Victorinox. The real ones are cheaper and way easier to get in the US anyway 🤪 next stop Vienna. Probably get a can of sausages just to say i did it.

Any suggestions for DC restaurants that allow corkage?
What kind of food are you looking for and how many bottles do you want to bring? The first restaurant that came to mind is one of my favorites, Reveler's Hour in Adams Morgan. It is best described as a farm-to-table wine bar and restaurant with Italian and Mediterranean influences. They have a corkage fee of $50 and a limit of one bottle/table, but the wine selection is very good should you need more wine.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
