Man, I really love this but don't think I need yet another cold weather sport coat!

For a second I thought it was 479£/meter for tweed! I nearly had a heart attack hahaha

OK gents,

I think we have general consensus on a meet-up date: 20 December (the Friday before Christmas)

Attire: Full tailoring or black-tie w/scooter optional ;) ;) ;) Just kidding, come as you are... but it is StyFo and the holdiays...so I am likely to bust out the tux, no pressure on anyone else to do the same.

Let see if can nail down a venue, reply with your choice if you are planning to, or are likely to, be there:

1) The Dignitary in the Marriott near the convention center
https://www.marriott.com/en-us/dini...arquis-washington-dc/5641402-the-dignitary.mi

2) Ritz Carlton DC near Foggy Bottom (two venues inside, Saga restaurant and Quadrant Bar & Lounge)

3) Hipflask rooftop bar, Bethesda

4) Your write-in venue
Any more votes or opinions before we lock in the venue?

NYC: Menswear notes. The shite is fecking expensive. Ties now at or well over $300. Anything cashmere starts around $600 and skyrockets. RLPL cashmere overshirt? $2500. Sartorio sport coat in a fabric similar to the Permanent Style x Fox Bros. fabric was over $4k.

Did finally grab some suede Chukka boots at least.

I went to NYC for menswear when Bloomingdale’s and Carson Street Clothiers (RIP) carried Eidos that they frequently put on sale. I was so money-conscious that I did an up-and-back in one day, which meant 10 hours on the bus, rather than pay for a hotel room. Those were the days.

Obligatory bistecca alla Florentina pic in Florence
Standard Styleforum flexes, eh? Okay, was at Club Kiev last night. Who knew expat Ukrainian girls were so into guys with hearing aids and reading glasses??? Maybe it was the Zegna? Apparently they all just want designer clothes, a substantial allowance, and a chic apartment provided to them?

The Ukrainian women into men with hearing aids.
I got that part. Was waiting for a “there I was in my small Midwestern college” story.
