The key to a good espresso martini is a good coffee liqueur. I swear by Mr. Black. It’s become a standby for my home bar.

It’s days like today that I love living in DC. Got an early start to catch the last day of the Simone Leigh exhibition at the Hirshhorn. Walked a few blocks north past the Mall to a watch fair. Place was packed with 99% of the attendees being men. The Christopher Ward booth was mobbed and I’m not that interested in microbrands, so I left after a few minutes. Planning to spend some time outside this afternoon to enjoy the beautiful weather.

I’ve bought Christopher Ward dive watches as gifts for son and bro-in-law. Actually very nice. I really like their new Moon Phase watch.

Crowdsourcing opinions. The restaurant at the Little Inn at Washington. Overhyped or worth it to try once? I’ve an anniversary coming up in two months or so…
Spectacular but if its two months you may already be too late for a table. If you are, Jônt should be booking May now. Tell them Mark and Jean sent you. :p

Anyone at Jack Rose for today's soiree?

Raising awareness, from the No Man Walks Alone thread:

Looks like the dust is settling on May 9 for DC trunk show (and maybe a dinner that night, if y'all are up for it). It will be a joint trunk show with Pommella.

We'll be taking appointments via email - 9 to 7pm on May 9 at the Sonder in Georgetown. If there is a specific fabric book that you would like to make sure we bring, let us know.

Really like that one. I am planning to get something with a moon phase eventually. The problem is the one I like most is the Lange One moonphase and my second choice is the JLC Master Perpetual Calendar (the one from the 90s). They're a big step up from my price range - in fact the Lange is three big steps up.

My wife and did the Inn about 10 years ago. We stayed at another B&B in Little Washington b/c the room rate was outrageous.

The service was impeccable. The wine list and drinks were incredible. Some of the food was great. Some of it was just good. The best I've had in the DC area is Pineapple and Pearls. The Inn was in the top 10, but not off the charts.

That’s really good to know, especially in comparison to P&P. Loved our experience there
