Inspired I think by NMWA’s beautiful Stoffa collaboration, I’m now thinking about a new coat for AW. This was always a de facto coat thread so maybe it should continue to be so in spite of Derek’s absence (?).

I’m in England so NMWA is out of the question, but I’d be interested to hear of any early recommendations.

This knocked my socks off:

Are you far from London? Fred Nieddu can cut you a beautiful coat.

Derek recommed double knee pants so I post here. This is double knee pants from L.E.J, the length is a bit too long for me. I am thinking about shorten it 1 to 1.5 inches or return it. In second pic the patch maybe too low and look weird?

These are a bit out of my style lexicon, but they look great on you. I know what looks good when I see it.

I have been eyeing a rugby polo for years now and it seems more companies are offering them these days. The reason I have not bought one yet is because I am trying to figure out the best color scheme or company to order from. J. Crew has a couple in their new catalog, Ralph Lauren has a bunch, and Rowing Blazers.

A white collar seems like a must but then color-wise I am open. I have a ton of blue so was thinking maybe a green base or something similar. Thoughts?

If you are in the US, take a look at Columbiaknit for rugbies; if you're in Canada, Barbarian. While they likely won't have the specific colour combinations the retailers will, they are well made and very classic, and they've both been used by higher end clothiers for special make ups.

Drawn to this one but worried about Harry Potter vibes.

Of course, it's still a nice shirt. I wore this pattern and others when I was younger.

^ that’s how Sting got his name as someone (Stuart?) took the piss when he was wearing a similar yellow and black hooped shirt.

I got a decent one from Daniel Taylor mail order catalogue in red and royal blue hoops and a really nice beefy one from Rowing Blazers in white with red and blue hoops.
