Hello. I had a chance to try simpson last oxford. Length, width around the ball joints are OK, but my instep is higher than it should be for simpson last. Angle of V is too wide.
Would there be any last suitable for high instep but narrow feet?

Did you have a chance to try Rain last? While technically wider, I couldn't see much difference besides the higher instep between Rain and "narrower" lasts such as Forest or Simpson.

The Uetam is *SHORT* . I wear a 10uk in Simpson, and in a 10uk in Uetam, the tip of my big toe was rubbing against the tip of the shoe standing still. No 10.5 UK was available to try on.

I wear a 7D in AE and Alden. 6E in C&J 337. 6.5E in C&J 348 if I wanted it.
6E in Simpson and Forest were too tight for me. 6E in Rain was fine.
Edit: Corrected Rain size
For anyone that reads this thread, if you don't like how pointy C&J 348 is, you won't like Simpson or Rain. I learned this the hard way.

Simpson reminded me quite a bit of the 348, although Rain had a softer curve to it.

I thought I'll add this too. This is from Ethan at The Armoury:

Carmina lasts

Inca - Widest last and waist for wide feet (EE width)
Rain - Like the Inca but with a chisel toe (EE width)
Soller - A boot last like Robert, fits like a double E.
Forest - Standard width with round toe (E width), There is also an EE width
Uetam - Similar to Forest but a shade narrower (E width)
Robert - Like the Simpson but more room in the toe box (E width)
Queen - an E width, similar to Alcudia but shorter
Alcudia - Like the Simpson but with Almond toe (E width)
Simpson - Narrow with chiseled toe, extended toe box (E width)

Anyone compare the Robert vs. Forest in a photo?

I wear a 13 E on the AE 5 last and just purchased some carmina on the forest last. 12 EEE (UK)/13 E (US) works great for me.

Would anybody happen to know how the Simpson last compares Edward Green's D width (narrow). I have pretty small feet; I wear a UK 5.5D on EG and I'm looking to buy my first Carmina.

Would anyone be willing to weigh in on some sizing advice for the 'Rand single monks on the Epaulet website?

I wonder if I should be sizing down a half from my normal lace-up size because:

a.) they are cordovan, which I understand fits a little looser?
b.) they are monk straps, which I understand need to be a little tight to stay on?

IMHO, if your lace-up shoes in your normal size fit well, you definitely shouldn't size down. The shoe would be too short and too narrow in that case. The difference in feel between calf and cordovan (and suede for that matter) doesn't warrant going for a different size. I made that mistake the hard way with suede chukkas, thinking they will stretch a lot. They do a bit, in the width, but the shorter length means that my feet still hurt after I had them on for a couple of hours.

I'd say stick with your normal size. UNLESS your foot runs narrow. The Rain last is on the wide side - particularly in the toes.

I have a pair in shell and a pair in calf on the rain. I don't see any noticible difference between the two.

hey ran through this and did not see anything definitive on inca to rain, or uetam to rain... 7UK Rain fits like it was made for me after about 3 wears, the first 3 being a hair snug.

It would appear that the inca and uetam would also be a 7, but as I said, I didn't see anything definitive, more piece meal.

I also wear a 7UK in CJ 348, which also fits quite well, albeit not as well as the rain, but it's splitting hairs at that point.
