Thanks for the laugh mate.

Ive always thought olive green works best for harringtons, like the one on MOM's pic or Danny Eccles, beige gives off the jeremy corbyn or old man vibe to me.
Oddly enough, I've got the beige and more than half considering the olive green. Recently gave away a Sky-blue one. Too small. Especially, across the shoulders....

i had a jump the gun one in olive green, was a nice jacket, gave it to bela tho seeing as i always wore my trucker instead, might as well give it to someone who will wear it instead of gathering dust.

I've never owed anything Stone Island.
I appreciate that the materials used are extremely hi-tech, and that their clothes are no doubt durable, but I've just never really ' got them'.
A few mates started wearing their jackets to football mid/ late 90s- by 98 they were hooligan wear.
Apart from anything else, I don't dig man made fibres.
Interesting, my awareness of Stone Island is based on what I've seen on a few sites that specialize in modern men's wear.
Almost every piece I saw was usually cotton, often Ventile.

My harrington quest has suddenly deepened. The Baracuta size guide seems to suggest that a size 40 jacket fits a 38 actual chest. Is that correct, why would they do that?

It seems like the opposite to me. I wore an old, pre-Lavori Baracuta in a 42, but a 44 in the new versions. I'd go the ofher way than they suggest.

I don't like most man-made fibers next to the skin but for outer shell I dig the Stone Island. Defo has a stigma in Britain and Europe-- not so much Stateside. I don't wear the North Face or many other brands here for the same reason.

I have been seeing a lot more Stone Island in Toronto lately - I counted two stoneys on students in the exam I just invigilated. Fashion-forward young people seem to be into it now as part of a streetwear look. Maybe something to do with Drake hanging out with aping the styles of UK grime artists recently.

My old-man beige raincoat. I'd like to think it makes me look like Frank Bullitt. In reality, it makes me look like Frank Butcher.
I like it. In 99 I gave away an olive green Burberry raincoat to a fella I barely knew, at a clubbing after party I most have been off my head- in fact I was off my head!

...haha, we always get the blame http://www.ukgameshows.com/ukgs/Runaround Mike Reid shouts at children... because Skinheads Host Mike Reid was criticised for being nasty to children who shouted out the answers. He said in 2006, "I had to keep them quiet, otherwise we wouldn't have a show. I was aggressive. I was not nice to the kids, but that was just part of me being Mike Reid the comedian, because when I was growing up, there was all the skinheads about and everything, and as a compere I had to shut-up everyone in the audience before we could put the show on."

Very late to the party on favourite Harringtons. Only got two at present - a new darker green Combat and an olive green G9 MiE from c.2008. The colour is called 'Loden' and it's my favourite harrington so far...

Mrk,what would you consider as an alternative to a Harrington in a casual jacket ?
I remember a year or two ago you bought a Safari type jacket,do you think thats a better length than the blouson ?
I am thinking about something like a tailored version of an M65 type field jacket, better fitted than the original, non military colour and probably without the Bickle name tape.
