Make sure you turn off any "energy saving" features and also make sure you run the kitchen tap to bring up the hot water. Apparently much of the drying ability of modern dishwashers has to do with the plumbed hot water and then never opening the door until several hours after the cycle finishes.

Knowledge imparted by the dood that installed our Bosch so IDK how accurate but I make sure the tap water is hot and don't open after I start until ready to empty; everything always comes out dry.
The higher-end Bosch models have an actuator which pushes the door open a bit at the end of the cycle so that steam escapes, so maybe the dood had an incomplete understanding of the ways of Bosch.

The guy at the store said Miele warms the water up so you don’t have to run the tap. Now I could be trying to justify my purchase but the Bosch 800 felt flimsy when I checked one out this weekend. More than our old one which was odd
Given the relatively small price delta, if you're feeling the Miele, treat yoself!

Probably gonna kick off a garage reno next week. Nice up the drywall. Insulate. Add a drop ceiling. Elec for future Split HVAC. Nice big cabinets and some hang racks for storage.

To make the spacing work I need to get stackable washer + dryer. My current ones are ancient anyway (not all bad - the buttons are falling off but they do a great job).

Have gas.

Any recommendations on units?

Anyone have a foolproof remedy of keeping small animals out of mulch and pooping everywhere? I’m pretty sure it’s all the stray cats. Maybe some of the dog walkers in the early morning or late night. Possibly the possum but less likely I think. I tried ultrasonic cat deterrent device you get at Amazon but in less than 24 hrs of putting the stake down the ground I returned it because it’s annoying and it’ll probably annoyed all the neighbors.

I’m in the yard mostly on the weekends and when touching up the yard I can count on seeing littering somewhere. The mulch being ridden with poop. It’s noticeable because the cats cover it up and you see the unevenness of the ground.

I mean.... Animals poop outside. Your mulch is outside. I anticipate this as being a losing battle

@gettoasty, if it's cats, orange peels should work. At least my mom used those. But it was in our backyard, and this sounds like your front.
