I quite like the bohemian chic look. But seems to have some issues.

When Mr. Friedlander entertains, he must first vacuum the blue velvet couch because of the constant rain of ceiling plaster. He sleeps fully clothed and wearing a hat because at night he can see his breath in the as-yet-unheated air. A chunk of wrought-iron railing retrieved from the flotsam pins the balcony door shut and, oh, there's no kitchen. He makes do with a toaster oven and washes his dishes in the bathtub.

Hearing "bachelor pad" makes me think of Ron Burgundy and Glen Quagmire. Things are not what they used to be.

One semester during college, I slept in my car to save money so I could backpack Italy. I had a few nights below 20 degrees, but your body gets used to it. Not preferable, but it's not exactly hard to live without air conditioning. I'm guessing 70% of the world does it. But that guy could at least tidy that **** up a bit.

only homosexuals and frat boys have designated bachelor pads. those 2 groups are probably redundant.

I like. 5 story building full of antiques for $750 a month? Awesome. He needs to drop $30 on a space heater or an electric blanket though. Or get a heater and a heated mattress pad.

Having no kitchen is problematic though

aside from the use of plywood, i'd really like to shut the door and get busy in a sex pod like that. give it a more appropriate finish-out and i'll take one.
