I'm getting a new flat. The building is regency/georgian and I have a couple of pieces of that era as a nod to the building, but I'm mostly into modernist stuff. I want to have a day bed in the living room. I want it placed roughly in the middle of the room (rather than against a wall), so that people can sit on either side of it. Now, minimal designs look better to me, but aren't very comfortable. For instance:
On the other hand, designs with a backrest have the problem of not looking great in the middle of a room and only allowing one direction of seating:
So I reckon that I need to go for this kind of concept:
But I can't find a satisfactory version of that design. Suggestions? Please post ideas, pictures, references, etc. Thanks in advance.
