Nice, lovely colour of the leather! If I look at the guitar body frame, standard depth being 10 cm, 10cm=3,93 inches, also taking into account the common wood chips sizing, comparing to welt, i would say it's 6 spi. ;)

Effectively, you know about guitars , can you play guitar?

Yes it's pretty, I made some pairs of shoes of that calf, at first I saw them a bit strange, then I put the skin next to jeans and I saw them different, they look pretty.
I only have a pair of shoes, you can believe me, it's true.

A bunch of pictures of my latest bespoke pair from Yohei Fukuda, a 3 eyelet derby in light brown vintage Freudenberg leather (late Freudenberg, a few years before they closed the tannery). As always very nicely made. More pics on my blog, can't share all here, but a good few:

My JLP bespoke shoes. Originally received in late summer or early fall of 2018 but the shoes were a little off. Paul in the NY store came to Houston in late November or early December 2018 and marked them up to send back to the workshop to modify by taking out some space in the toe box area and reduce the width. I received the shoes this week. Shoes fit much more snug now and looks much better than the original finished product. Very happy with the final product.

Could you show us several pictures of your feet? With socks or without them is the same, in the photographs the shoe appears a bit strange, perhaps unbalanced ....... but without seeing your feet it is difficult to think.......

How did you get hold of vintage leather from Freudenberg?

Yohei had a hide. It's a late version of it, slightly thinner and more similar to the Weinheimer calf we see today. I'm having a pair made in another vintage Freudenberg box calf by Eiji Murata/Main d'Or, that leather is older, thicker with a bit different character.

My feet are short. I normally wear a UK 7E in most John Lobb lasts but my true sizing would probably be closer to 6.5EE. Even on a 7E, the outside part of my foot tends to spill over. A quick eyeball comparison with a normal 7E vs the bespoke pair, it looks like my bespoke is about 1 cm shorter and 1.5 cm wider than the stock pair.

The short length is also sort of what JL Paris does with their bespoke shoes. Make small compact shoes unless you specifically ask you want extra length.
the shoes look nice, but a bit short?

Also attached shots from one of my earlier fittings. The balance looks off because the lacing isn’t dead center of the shoes. They’re off center to match up with the highest point of my foot (don’t know what that’s called). I just don’t have the ideal feet to make the best looking shoes. I know that a cap toe or wingtip with brogueing would be hard to do on this last while keeping the proportions looking correct due to the shape of my feet.
