I decided to give the Road Jacket a chance. It's really quite good. This is my first piece of any kind made up in casentino wool, which differentiates it enough from similar offerings I already have in my wardrobe.

I don't know that I would have ever stumbled across Savas if it weren't for The Armoury. This collaboration is a winner. I am so glad The Armoury seeks out makers like this to put together really compelling pieces. They somehow always feel just right. The jacket is paired with The Armoury's navy summer knit and antique yellow Rota trousers.

I'm reading "Our Country People" by Gary Shteyngart. The Armory is name checked as a place where one of the characters shops. Later, that same character is described wearing a City Hunter jacket. Just over half way, so I'm not sure if there are any other references.

I'm curious. Does Shteyngart shop at The Armoury, or did y'all know he was going to drop a reference?

Not sure if Mark knew, but I did not! Very cool, I was a big fan of Lake Success. We've worked on a few special city hunter jackets for Phillips and FP Journe in the past few years, given Gary's connections to Hodinkee, he may have seen some of those.

Thanks for sharing!

Would have been more realistic if Senderovsky ended with a long, rambling monologue about his clothes.

"I like your dressing gown," Ed politely mentioned.

"Thanks, man," Senderovsky replied. "This is made from an 18oz woolen flannel from Fox Brothers, a micro-sized mill based in Somerset, England. Flannel actually comes in worsted and woolen varieties. A century ago ... [voice trails off]"
