Are those things? I was commenting on it more as a common interwebz thing than anything unique to you. In any event, the two are hardly mutually exclusive.

I don't know how good they are, but in Japan they do sell woks that are for IH. Also on gas, most home cooks use the ring adjustment which probably helps a bit, but still not as good as restaurants:

Anyone ever tried planting hydrangeas in the coastal South? Is it workable?

I'm in Houston, have heard mixed things. According to publications, some people do it, but I never see any.

I have a spot with only morning sun and partial shade (full shade in afternoon), but some people I know say it's just too hot in the summer.

I can't comment on the coastal south part, but I live in a hot and humid area (D.C.) and have hydrangeas. They are doable, but I think you have to be really, really particular about the location. Our hydrangeas are located in a pretty similar type of spot (full sun early, giving way to partial shade and then full shade as the day progresses). They have gotten fried since we put them in, and I really regret not being more firm about my disinterest in them. We have another place that gets much more shade throughout the entire day and has a lot of dappled light, which is supposed to be good for them. I think we're going to move them there. I'd caution against a place with full sun, even if just in the morning.

Thanks. I think Houston is Souther than D.C. so not encouraging. "Oak leaf" variety native to Georgia may increase my odds. It's kind of like the ROCKY of gardening.
