MacNeils back from recrafting! Thought I’d have a little fun and try out some red and green Dainite. Process took less than one month— I dropped them off on March 29 and they were delivered this afternoon. I was unsure if recrafting could handle the black pair as they had been previously (and poorly) re-soled. I bought them for $20 on Poshmark, so I figured I would roll the dice. The walnut pair was an eBay find, and, to be honest, they were a touch loose. So, I decided to test out this whole theory of shoes coming back a little tight after recrafting—it worked.

What I've been wearing lately and another new-to-me pair from ebay.

Boulevards early in the week. Allen Edmonds should make more derby and blucher style shoes.

I always do a cheesy Crocodile Dundee quote whenever I pull these out for a wear. “You call that a shoe? This is a shoe!” Sorry, can't help it.

Turmeric suede Strandmoks are spicy, in a good way of course.

Monday was the first day of the Celtic's playoff journey, so I had to wear these.

I don't believe in luck, but while wearing these shoes the C's haven't lost a game yet. Coincidence? Yeah.

Coffee Carlyle is a beautiful shoe, just wish it fit better.

A new-to-me pair of Shreveports. Box, bag, and even shoe trees were included.

They weren't new, but they were close. This is after half a day of wear.

Been a minute since the brown snuff suede Freeport boots got some run. So, they're getting it today. Oh, and Shoebank Factory Seconds are still sitting under $200. Get them while the getting is good. Now, if only AE would put the natty CXL at the same price point. I'd jump.

Excellent distinction! I had not even noticed the small round piping on the pair I pictured above. I think I like the raw binding better. By the way, nice oxblood Carlyle with Independence lining.

I wonder if anyone has experience requesting an insole swap when recrafting through Allen Edmonds. I would like to get a cork and leather insole without the Poron on a pair of my Higgins Mill boots - just as they are in the Barbour limited edition model.

It isn't worth it to swap the insole for the cost of that kind of work. Just buy the boot afresh unless it needs general recrafting.

They are only about $47 more plus tax.

I mostly agree, unless it's something that means a lot to you and you cannot replace. I saw someone recently spent $1,100 for Bedos to resize his suede Chester shoes.

Sadly, no firsts in my size for the natty CXL. And the 2nds in natty on Shoebank are $147 more than the brown snuff suede ones. Go figure.

1100? Yikes.

I mean, if you love them and you can afford it, sure; but aes are so plentiful you should be able to find even rare models relatively cheaply.

What absolutely killed me about that video is that the Chesters were originally a eee! Do they know how hard it is to find eee in the wild?
