It's a tourist trap these days but McSorleys in NYC is by far and away the best place I've been. You never ever walk out of there its more of a half stumble/crawl. The dark beer is great and the place has a nice deal of history. My second fave and close runner up to McSorleys is no longer in operation, also in NYC, named Chumleys. Also had insane history and many famous writers hung out there back in the day (hemingway, tennesee williams etc)

the old ship in sf. there's really nothing special about the place save for the place's history (or at least its establishment's name's history) but I spent a lot of time there whenever I'm meeting up with family or friends and the staff and regulars are cool.

He's also one of the nicest posters on the forum so, if someone were ever to open a bar in their garage and give away drinks, it'd be Hunts.

How any of this makes him an "easy target" is beyond me. So is your inability to take a ******* joke.

what in god's name are you talking about? my "Huntsman is an easy target" thing wasn't an insult to you or him, it was just an unfunny joke about his handle. had no idea you were so upset about my completely innocuous joke, which had to do with his name, obviously, and not your comment about him. take your own advice and relax. the angry old timer thing doesn't work for you.

You guys desperately need to learn the (0)-(10) sarcasm meter for posting before everyone in SLFD catfights each other to death

For some reason this is my favorite bar located in a small fishing village in Ireland. Probably because it is two doors down from my Aunts house in Ireland. I could indulge in copious amounts of booze and stumble into her tiny thatched roof cottage with very little issue, and then build a turf fire and have a cup of tea before going to bed.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
