After a year spent editing, composing the score and fine-tuning, I'm thrilled to report that I recently "locked picture" on MEN OF THE CLOTH, my film on Italian master tailors. And I couldn't have done it without the support from the members at Styleforum, who really came through last year when I was raising funds for editing. The result is a 96-minute documentary that I'm really proud of: a nuanced portrait of Old World artisans captured over the course of many years. These men live a life of meaning and purpose that I find incredibly inspiring.
I've already started submitting to film festivals, but in the interim, I've launched a Kickstarter campaign to complete post-production. This is the "polishing" to get the film ready for distribution (the sound mix, color correction and mastering). I have to reach my funding goal of $20,000 by December 21st in order to receive the funds pledged.
Once again, I've partnered with some amazing sponsors who are donating custom items to our effort -- many have been featured in discussions and editorials on Styleforum. They include:
MARTIN GREENFIELD CLOTHIERS in Brooklyn, NY, who is offering a custom-made suit.
California leather goods craftsman BASIL RACUK -- who sells at Leffot -- and is offering a handmade customized soft leather brief.
Master tailor NINO CORVATO, who is offering custom-made trousers.
GENEVA CUSTOM SHIRTS, who is offering custom shirts made with your own pattern.
I hope you'll support my Kickstarter campaign in return for one of our custom rewards. Thanks a million!
