My new Dallas Fit coat arrived today - I'm very pleased. It's basically just a lengthened Washington, but with completely unpadded shoulders and four button cuffs rather than five. The 2.5 button arrangement is a little unique for an topcoat, but I rather like how it rolls over. As it's based on the Washington, I ordered this in the same size I'd take that in and it fits great - 46R. I'm usually a 44L for reference.

The fabric is absolutely gorgeous. It's a mix of wool, mohair, cashmere and silk (not much else they could have included to be honest!) but it feels remarkably hardy. I don't know why I expected it to be much more delicate, but it's medium weight and feels strong. It's a little darker than the photos online indicate.

I realise the angle of the picture is slightly skewed downwards, but the length is also not a problem either; it falls above knee but it's definitely not super short like the website pictures make all the coats out to be. I'm 6'3 for reference.

If only there wasn't a heatwave on at the moment...looks like I'll have to wait a little while to wear this!

@chocsosa Do you find the hudson to be the slimmest of suitsupply models? Or is it the havana? Honestly, in pictures you don't look anywhere near that tall, either way that model really suits your build.

Sorry, just saw this..not really.. I would say the coppenhagen and Washington are from what I tried on...the Hudson for my body type is just a notch below those two in slimness..Napoli by far has the most space.. it will still look awesome if it is tailored right (if tailorable at all)..Thanks for the words my man!

I've been thinking about buying a brown jacket for a little over a year now and am finally ready to pull the trigger. Need a little help though. I had narrowed down to this piece:

http://us.suitsupply.com/en_US/jack...I.html?cgid=Jackets&prefn1=color&prefv1=Brown

but I'm worried it will be a bit too hot. I've recently moved to Phoenix. I'm not planning on wearing it in the summer, but I'd like it to be wearable for the rest of the year (or when traveling to northern climates in the summer). It is 320gram/ 11 oz fabric. What do you guys think?

If not that one, any other recommendations in brown? I am not a fan of linen as it is just too wrinkly for my tastes.

This brown jacket that someone mentioned recently is also interesting, but no idea if it is any cooler as it is still in the Fall/Winter:

http://us.suitsupply.com/en_US/jack...I.html?cgid=Jackets&prefn1=color&prefv1=Brown

This one from the summer collection might be my best bet, but it's out in 38R:

http://us.suitsupply.com/en_US/jack...I.html?cgid=Jackets&prefn1=color&prefv1=Brown

Should I go with my top choice? Or am I better off waiting for next year's summer collection?

Is that advice because of price, or that the Fall/Winter collection would be too heavy?

sorry, shouldve been more specific. in phoenix, the fall/winter stuff would be way too heavy to get enough use out of to justify the price. i have the same issue in california.

Question; how does the Washington Half compare to the Washington fit? It's confusing; some literature indicates it's shorter in the body and sleeves, others seem to imply it fits identically to the normal Washington except with patch pockets.

identical as far as i can tell. just half lined, patch pockets and no ticket pocket or 2/3 button roll

I bought that jacket and promptly returned it. It is definitely a thick fabric. I would definitely not recommend it for AZ.

While still a thick fabric, for some reason, it feels less thick than the first one you mentioned. I live in LA and it is definitely warm in the summer months so I won't be able to pull off wearing it then, but it could be a Spring and Fall jacket, at least part of the time.

^^ One appears to be a very dense weave, the other very open and so it will wear coolerl despite the weight.

So my navy wool / alpaca Havana arrived today. The 94 fits like a glove. It is a pleasant surprise; the 48 was a terrible fit for me. I'll shorten the sleeves a little and that's it.

Texture-rific.

Your objection is noted, but shirt was not really the point of the post.

X-post from What are you wearing. This is the Hudson in wool/cotton from SS 15. Still one of my favorites. Shirt and tie are also SuSu. Pocket square is from Gagliardi.
