I'd like to reboot this thread because I found the answers lacking
http://www.styleforum.net/t/242640/stylish-black-running-shoes

Alot of the people don't answer his question Including yzeele recommending: "black orange, pink, baby blue, lime or"

I'm looking for something durable, all black, and as simple design as possible

Show snob says recommends a hugo boss all black leather trainer:

1. Are those really durable enough for running?

2. One option I found was Nike lets your customize colors on a few shoes you could make it all black

Which design do you think of Nike's customizable color would be simplest and most stylish?

3. Where do runners typically go if they want all black simple looking shoes?

Skechers shoes these all black simple shoes in the video but actually don't sell any like those
I agree with one poster's comments:
"
The shoe looked great before they revealed it was from skechers, with that big S on it is just looks ugly. Couldn't they just place the name inside of the tongue, or perhaps on the bottom of the shoe. I have nothing against Skechers, I was actually surprised at how great the all black label-less ones looked, and then bam it turned ugly with that label plastered. "

If you actually plan to run in them, your first priority should be making sure the design and fit of the shoes is right for your build, gait, and stride, to avoid injury. Any aesthetic preferences are faaaar less significant.

And if you plan to run outdoors, then being more visible is actually a good thing, no?

Yes.

When I go to the store and try on the model with customizable color shoes like these what are some specific things you might judge in the shoe's design and running ergonomics aside from judging that the shoe feels alright. Are there any features you would look for aside from "feels okay when I try jogging in the store" ?:

Yes.

I don't plan on running outdoors.
