East of Eden, without a doubt (but with the cut of the pants slimmed way down).

Classic American style, but without all the sports references in RL and Bastian. (By the way, what's with the fascination these Americana lines have with polo and rugby? How many Americans do you know that play or watch either sport?)

I actually like Masculin Feminin better (my favorite as far as Godard goes, cinematically and sartorially). Another notable omission, IMO: The Godfather.

Pretty much anything by Kar Wai Wong. In the Mood for Love and 2046 immediately come to mind as incredibly stylish movies.
