Never meant to be buttoned. Is the top button on a Neapolitan jacket ever intended to be buttoned? I tried to button mine on my new navy Neo hopsack and it seems like the buttonhole and the button are at different heights, resulting in the excess fabric arching outwards between the top button and second button. Not sure I will ever button the top button, but just curious to see if this is a QC issue or what.
Thanks!Never meant to be buttoned.
Thanks, @tennessee, for mentioning this. I know people generally don't fasten the top button, but I assumed doing so was a possible option, à la Bond in On Her Majesty's Secret Service. But now I know it's not, and I'm not as tempted by the Neo. You saved my wallet! Is the top button on a Neapolitan jacket ever intended to be buttoned? Details on the collar. Me like itView attachment 1176354 View attachment 1176355 First mtm shirt. 4 inch collars and heavy shirring. This collar won’t come out of a jacket.
Yes, it's linen so that's really a main quality. From owning multiple linen jackets/suits I'll say there's no getting around it.I think it was asked earlier today but also wondering if we should expect the linen coats to wrinkle a lot?
