Really loving Spier’s decision to go all in in the sweater polos. I’m gonna pick up a few more short sleeve versions and hope for some long sleeve solids. This is an XXL. Haven’t washed yet; but I’ve laundered the short sleeve versions regularly for about two years without significant shrinkage

Are these Mac Jackets supposed to be rain jackets or just a lighter coat for transition seasons?
Knowing Mac Coats, typically they are a 100% cotton water resistant light coat for the rain. I would say 3 season depending on where you live, and if there is a liner or not

Are the sweater polos cool enough to wear in the summer? I was interested in them, but all I see in the word "sweater" is "sweat, haha.

I wear the short sleeve versions all summer long. They would not be my first choice for an outdoor event when temps get to 85 degrees and above, but they wear cool enough for a 20 minute walk to lunch on hot days.
I doubt I'll be wearing this long-sleeve version much during the hottest part of the summer. It's pretty light weight, and not as warm as the merino wool version (obviously), but I think it wears slightly warmer than Spier's long-sleeve pique polos, which I also don't wear during the summer months.

@reidrothchild Was this released last season as well? Looks good on you. I just hate buying Spier's items at the first release. I know I sound like a broken record
Unfortunately, no, this is first season that I'm aware of for the cotton long-sleeve polo sweaters. I'm a broken record as well, because I've complained before about the shrinkage of the long-sleeve merino wool polo sweaters, but I thought the risk was worth it, given my experience with the short-sleeve versions. FWIW, the two of these that I ordered don't seem to have any (mis)sizing issues that sometimes get reported with first-run Spier items.

Thanks. I have the Merino wool long-sleeve version and did not notice any major shrinkage.

Apologies if this has been asked before, but does anyone have sizing advice for the knit polos/shirts?

I'm 6ft and 157lbs with a 39.5 inch chest.
Usually wear a size 38 contemporary in spier's sportcoats.

Also, would the silk/cotton knit polos or pure cotton knits be more appropriate for tropical humidity?

I don't have an answer to your question, but was curious since I'm figuring out my sizing in Spier and Mackay and your height and chest measurements are similar. At 6' with a 38 are you ordering a regular or long?

Waiting for the spread collar pique polos to restock. I own Kent Wang and Sunspel, which are both better, but S&M is the best value for ‘beater’ daily wear polos.

I’m 6’ with a 37.5” chest and wear 38L. I do have to get the sleeves shortened, but I like the extra length on the jacket.
