..and second question: how do you think this Moon oatmeal merino compares with the oatmeal donegal from FW19 in terms of color, heft and feel? I really like the herringbone on this, but I already own the donegal and cannot make up my mind whether it will be too similar.

Appreciate all the help!

I could use some sizing help.

I am looking to buy a pair of trousers. My waist size floats between 33-34 depending upon whether I've had motivated week of exercise or not.... Anyway, I've read that the SM cut runs on the slim side, even in the contemporary fit. Ideally, I'd like to hit the size so that I don't have to tailor the waist, but I'd rather error slightly larger (tailoring isn't a deal killer). My thought was that a 35 contemporary would be the best bet. Any thoughts, experience, advice from those with similar waist sizes?

My only point of comparison (unfortunately) would be that I have JB Reserve, tailored fit, slacks in 34 that fit well and didn't require tailoring.

I appreciate the help gentleman!

I've found the sizing guide on the website to be very helpful. I measure my best fitting trousers (and shirts) and order the size the most closely matches the sizing guide. For trousers specifically, I've found that I usually need to order one size higher than I would normally buy from other brands. In non-Spier trousers, I most frequently wear a 32, and a I buy a 33 from Spier.

I find the notion that there is any pant too formal to be worn without a jacket kinda odd.

A tuxedo pant would be an exception, obviously, as something in an entirely different class.

This happen to anyone else? So I've had this custom shirt for roughly 8 months, and after putting it in the last wash the collar comes back like this...
It cannot be steamed or pressed. It feels like a bump of extra fabric in the collar and it's very visible when wearing it and looks terrible. This hasn't ever happened to any other dress shirts I've owned.
