To my surprise, Crockett and Jones doesn't offer spectators (in England I believe they're called "correspondents").

Shoe Passion still offers my black & white spectators, but they're oxfords. On their website they're under the Henry Stevens line and designated "Marshall FBO." They also make monk strap spectators which I find odd-looking.
Allen Edmonds occasionally put out spectators in black & white and brown & white.

They are well worth the search. Good luck!
Add my yellow/brown crocodile belt and I think is a great start. Would a color-coordinated paisley tie be too much?
Good to hear. I was mindful of the well-advised rule that if you have one outré element in your outfit, the others should be muted for balance.
However, this combination of spectators and paisley tie will be pushing the limits of my personal dandyism.

They look great!Well, I was especially taken with @Andy57's all-suede Edward Green's, but I could not afford a pair myself. So, I did the next best thing -- or at least something in the vicinity: I ordered a custom pair from J. Fitzpatrick.
View attachment 2068851 I'm extremely pleased with how they turned out, and I'm looking forward to giving them a try in the next week or two. (It's warm year round here.)
A pair of bespoke from Japanese maker Kiyo
I thought that the origins of the spectator shoes were to keep the light color light when walking on the grass at an event. Hence, the dark color would be nearer to the bottoms.I've been eyeing a pair of captoe spectators since early in my SF days. When spectators come up, they're usually wing tip which doesn't have quite the same appeal.
When I was looking up options, I saw that Tricker's MTO doesn't have a surcharge if there's a minimum order of 12. Would there be interest if I sketched something up, like we used to do with the SF boots and stuff back in the day?
This is basically the Platonic ideal of a spectator to me, feels simultaneously less flashy than the winged models while having more presence:

I think that is true, in theory (they were supposedly created by John Lobb for cricket players, and then their fans --spectators-- started wearing them), but I don't think it is a hard and fast rule, especially since no one wears them to play cricket anymore. I've always been partial to the look of adelaide spectators, like these, which you don't see as oftenI thought that
