Interesting, Leaves, thanks for this info. I believe this Alfred Sargeant chukka uses the Horween hatch grain - the colour in this photo is named "Sienna". Still looks stunning and would make a perfect split toe derby.
I have the Radwell. When I polished it with brown polish, the color on the shoe lifted off and it really looked like crap. I have sent the shoe out to be re-dyed. Hopefully, it comes back much improved. All in all, a very disappointing job from AS, to say the least.

You are not the only one. Look what happened to me. Those are the shoes I received from factory, there were scratches all over the place but I only took a couple of picture. I did return those for refund.

SkoAB's Edward Green Trunkshow visited.
Interesting to get measured by a professional. She more or less turned my "knowledge" of my feet upside down...Very nice lady.

Anyway, Dover on 606 in dark oak ordered.

This is because Horween has had real problems with dying their hatch grain, and yet haven't round a solution that make the color stay when being scratched or treated. Actually Gaziano & Girling strip all of their hatch grain leather down completely, and then redo the coloring themselves. They could basically order the hatch grain in just one color. This is probably why Leaves find the G&G hatch grain looking so different from Carminas.

That's interesting, can you tell me what you learned?
