ok the sails and green mists are really expensive, so now im kind of thinking of this desert colorway, which is way cheaper. anyone have thoughts in this with olive fatigues or black jeans? maybe even light washed jeans?

^^ nostalgia would imply old styles right. Like the old air maxes (which are bulky and comfy).

What I’m referring to is less literal and more based on the general cultural momentum sneakers have gained over the last 35 years. Although these models don’t look like old models, they bring the same, function driven and bold approach as the models of old, just adapted to newer technology. But the ethos is the same and I think that is what creates attraction through nostalgia.

Why is anyone into that type of sneakers (bulky "hype stuff) ? Honestly don't get it.

You mean the React Elements? I don't think they're bulky. I think they're a very sleek, forward facing kind of sneaker. Not sure there's any kind of nostalgia attached.

I think the nostalgia resides in what those shoes have come to represent of the past (I.e advancement in technology, human achievement and social rights of the 20th century).

This is the main marketing platform of Nike.

@dieworkwear I had to google react elements, but I guess so? I just dont get the hype/appeal. Same with yeezy, cannot fathom why people who are not diehard Kanye fans would be interested.

edit: I guess im just not in the intended market bracket, dont have to understand everything...

Desert sand is good - I have those - work well with OD color or khaki bottoms. Look better with beige/grey socks than white IMO
