rug talk: I bought a large and at least supposedly old persian rug on ebay and I'd do it again. look for words like ANTIQUE, PERSIAN, and rug-creating towns like QOM, and you have to sort through a lot, but there are great looking rugs there.

It is a very plain black coat. The blackness emphasizes how flat and shapeless the whole thing looks. I imagine you can find something form Uniqlo for 1/4 the price. It's ubiquitous looking coat and nothing special about it. You may think differently. In which case who cares what we think then.

I don't have a Charles coat but do have a Garret also by Acne and trust me you won't find something similar in Uniqlo. But I'm also one of those who never really understood the fascination with Uniqlo in this forum, I got them at the same tier as Zara or H&M.

And Charles is far from an ubiquitous looking coat IMO, has a pretty weird look/fit.

The pictures you've posted of that coat make it impossible for us to tell how it actually looks.

Officine Creative. Remember seeing an actual on foot picture and they looked good but can't find it. Hesitating because final sale and don't want to have to go back on Grailed as a seller

why? not a big fan of chesterfield

i had an acne charles (tried all sizes at the store and they said most people size down one or sometimes two) and i agree with nahneun, the unstructured cut combined with the soft droopy material is pretty unflattering on most people. shoulders look limp, and the excess around the waist flares out. also the material is pretty lightweight so won't actually do much to keep you warm, if that's a consideration.

It is unlined, isn't it? The Garret coat on the other hand is very thick/stiff and with a much more traditional design/cut.

yes, i've owned the garret too. much thicker/stiffer (feels like melton wool?), structured shoulders and fitted cut, lined throughout.

that steven alan logo on the face bothers me

If you want to go cheap and reliable, Seiko has some good options in similar matte color.
