At that price, I would go for it if my size was in stock. [rule] Looking for some everyday outerwear for F/W in SF. What do you guys think of these two options? 1. http://www.stevenalan.com/WINSTON-FISHTAIL-PARKA/848785079770,default,pd.html $465 2. http://www.orvis.com/store/product.aspx?pf_id=6Y9Rs - $319
I like the Steven Alan fishtail a lot. In my experience, Steven Alan has been improving its quality the last couple of years (from a pretty low bar; it was basically J Crew), but I would still want to see that in person--or know I could return it--before committing nearly $500 to it. The only other caveat I'd have is that depending on the weight of the wax it might get a little sweaty for everyday wear. The Orvis is probably fine but there's nothing interesting about it.

I really like that. Low button stance is ace. Assuming you have a bit of swag, you could easily wear that with a jeans/tee look

There's an 80s Armani black viscose blazer at a nearby vintage store, textured weave, ventless, very low buttoning. It's objectively too big for me and sort of overpriced, but I'm still thinking about it. Very slouchy and extravagantly dated. To wear in otherwise boring boots jeans blazer type context. Smart?

Random vintage leather. Think it looks kinda cool.

Okay, gonna get this. Wondering how I should size? Does the jacket look a bit small on the model, or is it just me? However, he is apparently about my size (I'm like an inch taller and a few pounds skinnier), and wearing a size small, which is a 38. I wear 36 in blazers. Still, I for some reason think I should maybe get the medium, which is a 40, as it seems the model can't zip the jacket up when wearing a small, and it looks a bit snug all around.

Debating on adding a down jacket to my wardrobe (it's already getting nippy on the East Coast):

Option A: Dior Homme. Blue (also available in black). Looks insanely warm:

Option B: Moncler Gamme Blue. More conservative look:

Option C: SLP. Edgy option:

Get the small. Never get medium in leather.

don't know how tall you are, but i think the slp jacket is too cropped
i'd get the moncler gb jacket

if you're interested in other down jackets too, you could check stone island
some of them have interesting fabrics like therm-sensitive or reflective ones
