Eh I don't have a suit, nice to have but not really needed. Can totally get by with an odd jacket which I get way more use out of.

This is where I'm at right now. I have a brown wool jacket and many colors of slacks. I'm going out to get nicer shoes tomorrow (or at least weigh options if I order online).

I agree, which is why there really aren't any for this event, or for most of the poster presentations and conferences I've been to.

I think I'm going to get the grey tie and skip the black.

It's a great cut, looks like lovely quality fabric, top make!

Flat Head is also good and fades very well, but the shirt you've picked is a winner - your choice but I'd say go for it!

Raf dip-dye, too colorful?

It's bright, but being Raf it'll be top quality dyes and not look cheap or bright. Fun for spring and Autumn! I say yay

I'm having trouble deciding whether to keep these pants. This isn't a great photo, but they are a quilted poly material on the front and sides (black in front and medium brown on the sides), and a green/orange windowpane wool in the back. Riri zips at hem and front pockets.

I wouldn't style them like this, I think I would wear with boots and a knit.

Actually now that I'm looking at the photo I'm not sure I want to keep. lol.

This thread isn't interesting unless there's one dissenting opinion, so I say do it. You can pair them with something really subdued, kinda like what you're doing already, but I was thinking more of a tailored route
