Great thanks.

Can you truly afford to drop almost $7k on a jacket? Are you going to have to go without on other things, like rent, or food, or cellphone bills? Are you likely to have buyer's remorse?

If that is the jacket im thinking of they have released several incarnations of it over the past seasons because customers keep requesting it. It was 4.2k last time i checked cant believe its 7k now. But then again that QoS cardigan is like 2k now as well

Btw the sleeves are way too long on that jacket and it looks right everywhere else so it would be too small if you sized down. Sorry to say this but TF might not be for you.

OY you're right. I fall in love with pieces and then fanaticize about them. I need a girlfriend.

jeff13007: If I can get the sleeves shortened (from the top of the sleeve, not the cuff), then it will be right for me, right? Cause it fits everywhere else except sleeve length.

Sure you can but take this from someone who is a huge TF fanboy, I've bought their suits/shirts/shoes/ties/jackets at full price. But imo that particular jacket isnt worth it. When i tried on the wool version of it the cut looked very off and almost feminine. Btw the sales at least for the US are usually in november and sometime in summer i think july-ish. But they change the dates sometimes, my SA usually texts me when they are happening. But you can always go to Bergdorf or neimans when they are on sale and find similar pieces if not the same one. That jacket ive seen in wool and in suede at the Bergdorf's sale.

Thanks all. I was asking only because I was wondering if the styling was just so-so, that is to say, if you were like "this is something you could get anywhere waste of money" vs" this is unique unlike anything else" vs "a total steel Tom Ford is amazing!"

So you all think it's really nice but slightly o'erpriced? Or a ******* ripoff even taking into consideration the styling and cut?
Neither. I think it's really ugly and extremely overpriced. Regardless of the material/brand/quality of cut, I wouldn't pay $100 for that jacket, much less its listed price. It's all subjective. If you like it, and can afford it without living on ramen for a year, go for it.

I have 2 Tom Ford SUITS, not garbage canvas-looking hipster coats. Buying Tom Ford is about status, no one would believe a jacked coat like that is Tom Ford.

I personally think TF does casual better than they do formal, but to each their own.

On topic, coat isn't that amazing IMO. It seems like a somewhat simple and rather awkward looking jacket if I'm being completely honest. If you really like it, look for it on sale.

Your opinion of the jacket is clouded to the point that you're consulting strangers. It also costs 7 thousand dollars. I think you have your answer.
